Your future job:

  • Plays instrumental role in commercializing ferroelectric memory products
  • Defines technical requirements for memory and storage products
  • Collaborates with Development Teams (technology development, design engineering, firmware, product engineering) to define differentiated products
  • Creates technical content for discussions with customers and ecosystem allies
  • Represents an excellent position to develop into a leadership role as we scale our team

Your profile:

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
  • Professional experience in the semiconductor industry will be beneficial
  • Experience in memory system architecture
  • Proven track record in system architecture of memory products or storage products
  • Experience with non-volatile technologies like Flash, MRAM, RRAM, PCM, FRAM) desirable
  • Familiar with memory interfaces (DDR) or storage interfaces (PCIe / CXL, UFS, SPI)
  • Excellent cross-team communication skills

Senior Engineer Stack Development

Your future job:

  • Drive FMC’s pre-development of the ferroelectric film stack for different memory concepts and integration routes
  • Facilitate and lead projects in collaboration with research institutes / universities, R&D companies and tool vendors
  • Support the transfer of the learnings to industry tools
  • Work closely with all engineers inside FMC in order to resolve fundamental material and memory device challenges, i.a. imprint, wake-up, retention, endurance, scaling, finding best trade-offs for different device types
  • Assist Lead of Stack Development by supervising student assistants in the team

Your profile:

  • M.Sc. Degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or similar (Ph.D. preferred)
  • +4 years of professional experience in the related semiconductor field
  • Experienced in fabrication of capacitor or transistor devices, and in electrical and structural characterization of ferroelectrics
  • Knowledge of metal ALD and HfO2/ZrO2 ALD deposition and process
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing and data analysis using JMP and Python
  • Skills in MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written

Senior CAD Engineer

Your future job:

  • Responsibility to install and maintain the design tool environment that consists of technology related files (PDK), tools to run simulations for both analog and digital flows and tools for physical verification.
  • Provide and optimize the optimal configuration setting of different tools (e.g. to achieve best performance and accuracy of simulations while reducing run times)
  • Write scripts to automize specific tasks.
  • Add DRC and/LVS checks to perform dedicated checks based on design team requirement.
  • Install PDK received from foundries, maintain communications with them and with EDA vendors to ensure most up-to-date versions is used

Your profile:

  • MSc. Degree in the field of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • +6 years of professional experience as CAD Engineer
  • Proficient in one or more of Analog, mixed-signal, digital and phsycal verification design flows
  • Knowledge of design and layout tools (Cadence® DFII, Mentor Graphic, Synopsys)
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Skill, Tcl, Perl, Python, Makefile, Unix Shell scripting
  • Working experience in code development to create/improve automation tools to be used by design engineer
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written

Working Student – Electrical Test of Memory Materials and Integrated Chips

Sounds interesting? We want you as Working Student in our headquarters in Dresden!

Your objectives as Working Student:

To pursue our technology development, FMC develop ferroelectric capacitor stacks in collaboration with academia, tool vendors and fabs. Devices range from simple capacitor structures via shortloop vehicles to integrated arrays on 300 mm wafers. The electrical tests are performed on state-of-the-art test equipment and analyzed using Python-based scripts. As a working student at FMC, your tasks will be:

  • Plan and schedule measurement tasks assigned to you
  • Prepare Python scripts and samples for tests on probe stations
  • Analyze the results and discuss next steps with your supervisor
  • Familiarize step by step with further test equipment and routines

We are looking for a student who wants to stay for 12 months or longer. As your experience level and skill set progresses, the topics can be expanded according to FMC’s focus and your interests, e.g. towards reliability or failure mode analysis. Moreover, we will be happy to offer opportunities for future project work or thesis topics.

Your profile:

  • Enrolled as a student: electrical engineering, physics, nanoelectronics or similar
  • First experience with electronic lab instruments (oscilloscopes, semiconductor tester, I-V/C-V meters probe stations…); Programming skill & will to use Python measurement scripts to operate the testers
  • Good technical comprehension, reliable and thorough worker with the motivation to grow with us
  • Team player fluent in English (B2) to efficiently communicate with our international team of engineers

Senior Analog IC Design Engineer

Your future job:

  • Design and develop emerging NVM memory devices based on Hafnium Oxide technology
  • Support the design team in defining specifications and integrating the designed blocks into the memory
  • Responsible for the design of analog circuits for NVM memories: sense amps, decoders, bandgap, HV regulators, ADC, LDO, Charge Pumps, etc.
  • Run PVT circuit verification including parasitic extraction
  • Work closely with layout engineers to ensure block robustness and area optimization
  • Perform post silicon verification

Your profile:

  • Master Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a similar study course
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in analog/mixed-signal CMOS IC design
  • NVM design experience would be a plus
  • Familiarity with industry-standard design and simulation tools (e.g., Cadence® DFII, Virtuoso, Spice simulator, Verilog-A)
  • Good knowledge of CMOS technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in team

IC Layout Engineer

FMC is an innovative semiconductor startup driven by its ambitious, young team and our goal is to pave the way for next generation highly scaled NVM. We are hiring asap an IC Layout Engineer (m/f/d) for our headquarter in Dresden or our office in Milan.

Your future job:

  • Layout of emerging NVM memories based on Hafnium Oxide technology using the most advanced sub-micron technologies
  • Design full custom layout for analog and mixed signal blocks for NVM memories
  • Provide pre-layout block size and schedule estimations
  • Apply best layout practice such as device matching, signal integrity, ESD and Latch Up prevention, etc.
  • Run DRC, LVS and parasitic extraction
  • Work with circuit designers to evaluate critical layout aspects of the block under design

Your profile:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering
  • 5 year experience in IC analog layout
  • In-depth knowledge of sub-micron technologies and related design rules
